Criminals prefer UNARMED victims.
Why do I carry a pistol? Because carrying a cop is really hard on my back.

When you see a bad guy with a gun ...
You call a good guy with a gun. The gun is not the problem. The bad guy is the problem.

About me ...
In high school, early ’70’s, I could see no reason for anyone to own a gun for self defense except police. Then I read some interviews with hardened criminals about what they feared the most. The answer should not have been surprising: a potential victim who was able to fight back.
On my university pistol team, we spent at least as much time training new students in the safe and effective use of handguns as we did in actual competition. Similarly, over twenty years in Tae Kwon Do and other martial arts one of the most important parts of advancing was teaching. You could not get a high belt without sharing your knowledge, and that is also very satisfying.
One more thing: I learn something from every single student. Never stop learning!

The best way to contact me is by text message to 231-883-4680. If you phone that number, you will get my rude message — works very well against unsolicited calls! And I don’t check my messages very often but texts always get through.
Email also works. Send to cholzcpa@att.net and if you include something about “I want to learn” in your subject, I’ll get back as quickly as possible.
My range is in my back yard not far from Long Lake, west of Traverse City. The “classroom” portion is intended to fit your needs: your home or office, my picnic table, my living room, whatever works best for you.
